The EnfTech project
The EnfTech project is supported by funding from the UK Research and Innovation Policy fund at the University of Reading.
The EnfTech project grew out of a international research project on the Cross-border enforcement of consumer protection led by Professor Riefa, with contributions on the potential of technological approaches to future-proof consumer protection from Liz Coll.
The report conclusions, making the case for a technological approach to consumer law enforcement and policy making in the digital age, were presented in a keynote to a multinational forum of consumer protection agencies UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts. Since, the work has expanded and has had impact on practice around the globe. It is featured in the work of UNCTAD, notably with the publication of a technical note and a checklist for consumer agencies.
